Posters Dijon

Dijon as seen by our artists: the glazed tile roofs, the half-timbered façades and the windows open onto the Notre-Dame spire. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Dijon poster

Which Dijon poster should you choose?

Dijon comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

  • Dijon rooftops poster: glazed tiles, the yellow, green and black diamonds of the Hospices.
  • Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy poster: the Philippe le Bon tower, the courtyard, the classical facade.
  • Dijon owl poster: the good-luck charm of Notre-Dame, in line or as an illustration.
  • Dijon map or city plan poster: the historic centre, rue de la Liberté, the districts in line.
  • Burgundy and Dijon poster: vineyards, Côte de Nuits, leaf and earth tones.
  • Vintage Dijon poster: old advertisements, mustard, railways, retro lettering.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Dijon poster?

  • Living room: a view of the glazed roofs, alone above the sofa.
  • Dining room: a Burgundy vineyard or an old advertisement, beside the table.
  • Entrance: a map of Dijon, to place the city from the door.
  • Office: a line drawing of the owl or a facade, calm beside the screen.
  • Hallway: a series of three Burgundian cities, all the same size.

Tip: the diamonds on the roofs only read from a certain size up. Below 30x40, prefer a wider motif or a line drawing.

Dijon poster: landmark or wide view?

  • The landmark isolates one subject: the tower, a doorway, the owl, with nothing around it.
  • The wide view puts the city back among its roofs, its streets and its relief.
  • At a small size, the landmark stays legible where a wide view closes up.
  • At a large size, the wide view gives depth and holds the wall on its own.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
