Foliage as seen by our artists: cut-out palm leaves, monsteras and eucalyptus branches. Each poster is a personal reading of nature, hand-printed on 270 gsm semi-matte photo paper in our workshop in Fayence.
Choosing your Foliage poster
Which foliage poster should you choose?
Foliage comes in several registers, each with its own atmosphere:
- Exotic foliage poster: monstera, palm, banana leaf, large cut-out leaves and true green.
- Botanical foliage print: herbarium plate, fine line, cabinet-of-curiosities spirit.
- Watercolour foliage poster: blurred outlines, soft palette, a hand-painted look.
- Graphic foliage wall poster: simplified shapes, flat colour, clean Scandinavian-style line.
- Black and white foliage poster: leaf veins and silhouettes, sharp contrast.
- Autumn foliage: ochre, rust and brown gradients, a seasonal register.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by size.
Where should you hang a foliage poster?
- Living room: an exotic foliage poster in a large size, for a wall that needs presence.
- Bedroom: a sober botanical plate above the headboard.
- Bathroom: a graphic foliage poster, the room where green sits most naturally.
- Kitchen: a plant-close motif, next to a sideboard or a shelf.
- Entrance: a series of two or three botanical plates, aligned at the same height.
Foliage poster alone or in a series?
A single plate, in a large size, is enough to set a mood on a wall that is already busy. A series of two or three foliage posters, of the same size and the same palette, suits a hallway or a bare wall that needs rhythm better. On a pale wall, one large piece keeps the whole thing readable. On a wall that is already coloured, a black and white series avoids overload.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
