Posters Le Mans

Le Mans as seen by our artists: the old town standing out on the horizon of the plain. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your 24 Hours of Le Mans poster

Which Le Mans poster should you choose?

The 24 Hours of Le Mans come in several distinct styles, carried by a history that goes back to 1923:

  • Vintage 24 Hours of Le Mans poster: period lettering, sepia or pastel palette, 1920s to 1970s.
  • Race in action poster: a car racing down the Hunaudières straight, movement and speed.
  • Steve McQueen Le Mans poster: cinema portrait, driver's suit, a nod to the 1971 cult film.
  • Le Mans Classic poster: historic grid, vintage cars lined up on the starting line.
  • Le Mans circuit poster: the track's layout, a stylised map, corner markers.
  • Minimalist 24 Hours of Le Mans poster: flat graphic shapes, a car silhouette reduced to its essentials.

The filters on the left narrow things down by era, by dominant colour and by style, whether you are after a mood poster or a framed print.

Where should you hang a 24 Hours of Le Mans poster?

  • Office or fitted garage: a circuit or race poster, a natural fit for an enthusiast.
  • Living room: one large vintage format, alone above the sofa.
  • Teen's bedroom: a Steve McQueen portrait or a race poster, in a vertical format.
  • Hallway or staircase: a series of three posters, from the same year or the same palette.
  • Car cave or games room: a Le Mans Classic poster, to carry on the paddock mood.

Vintage or contemporary 24 Hours of Le Mans poster?

A vintage poster recreates the graphic style of one particular year, 1966 or 1923 for instance, with the lettering codes of its time: it suits a retro interior or a room set aside for the collection. A contemporary poster, whether a photo or a clean graphic composition, fits more easily into a present-day living room without dating the room. On a wall already busy with racing objects and souvenirs, a plain, recent poster balances the whole better than a second vintage piece.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
