Posters nursery

The nursery as seen by our artists: gentle animals, round shapes, alphabets and powdery tones. Nursery wall decor is looked at from very close, and for a long time. Every print is made to order in our Fayence workshop, on 270 g semi-matte anti-glare photo paper.

Choosing your nursery poster

Which nursery poster should you choose?

Nursery decoration leans on a few clearly identifiable registers, to combine or to choose alone:

  • Gentle animals: rabbits, bears, foxes, round shapes and pastel colours.
  • Alphabet and first name: letters, initials, a nursery poster you can personalise.
  • Tender botany: foliage, fine branches, sage or beige tones.
  • Stars and sky: moon, stars, clouds, for a night light on the wall.
  • Abstract shapes: arches, circles, soft tone-on-tone, a Scandinavian spirit.
  • Baby boy's room poster: blues, greens, vehicle or woodland-animal motifs.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a nursery frame?

  • Above the cot: a vertical size, at a good height, out of reach.
  • Above the changing table: a gentle subject that holds the child's gaze.
  • On the wall by the door: the first image seen on opening it.
  • Above a shelf or a low bookcase: a small aligned series.
  • In the reading corner: a nursery picture that invites calm.

Tip: favour soft, matt tones at an adult's eye level for the mood, never right above the headboard.

One poster or a series?

  • A single poster in a large size sets a strong focal point and avoids overloading.
  • A series of two or three small sizes lets you mix registers without setting them against each other.
  • At 30x40, an aligned trio keeps a light read above a chest of drawers.
  • At 50x70, one piece alone is plenty on the room's main wall.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
