Which bird poster should you choose?

Depending on the line, the bird is a motif or a subject:

• Ornithological plate: in the manner of old herbaria, very detailed.
• Silhouettes in flight: swallows, flocks, black shapes on a pale ground.
• Bird in line art: one single line, one profile.
• Birds of prey: owls, eagles, a gaze head on.
• Sea birds: gulls, cormorants, cliffs.
• Birds and botanicals: branches, berries, foliage.

The filters on the left narrow by dominant colour, style and mood.

Where to hang bird wall decor?

• Living room: an old plate with a wide mount, on its own.
• Bedroom: silhouettes in flight, calm and light.
• Kitchen: birds and berries, a pale botanical plate.
• Child's room: an owl, one simple line.
• Corridor: three birds by the same artist, in a line.

Tip: an ornithological plate needs a wide mount. That is how they were shown.

Which wall for birds?

• White or cream wall: the ground of old plates, the truest.
• Sage green wall: the most natural pairing.
• Midnight blue wall: pale silhouettes stand out on it.
• Beige or linen wall: warm, it softens a black line.

Poster, print or wall picture: what is the difference?

Here the three words mean the same thing: an image you hang on the wall. We say print because we print on art paper, not on canvas or metal.

• Framed: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
• Unframed: the sheet alone, to slide into a frame you already own.
