Choosing the right poster from all our posters

Which poster should you choose?

  • Cinema and pop culture: James Bond, Star Wars, film posters and cult sagas.
  • Photography: black and white, portrait, architecture, nature.
  • Illustration and graphic design: line, flat colour, minimalism.
  • Art and painting: reproductions, movements, historical currents.
  • Typography and quotes: single words, phrases, letterplay.
  • Vintage and retro: old advertisements, tourism, period posters.

The filters on the left narrow by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang wall decor?

  • Living room: a large format that sets the tone of the room.
  • Bedroom: calm tones, never too busy a subject above the bed.
  • Study: a film or typography poster, for a wall that inspires.
  • Hallway: a series of several posters at the same size.
  • Entrance: a strong piece that catches the eye on the way in.

A tip: for a shared room, a film or pop culture poster often finds agreement more easily than a very personal subject.

Frame it or leave it bare?

  • A thin wood or metal frame protects the paper and structures a bare wall.
  • A poster on its own, fixed with clips or adhesive, keeps a rawer, lighter look.
  • On a wall already crowded with furniture, the bare poster stays discreet.
  • On an empty wall, the frame gives weight and justifies the large format.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
