Choosing your Children poster

Which children's poster should you choose?

The children's world comes in several styles, and they don't tell the same bedroom story:

  • Baby room poster: soft animals, round shapes, pastel palette.
  • Alphabet and numbers: illustrated letters, playful learning.
  • Boy's room poster: vehicles, adventure, bolder tones.
  • Botanical motifs and clouds: softness, sky, stylised natural elements.
  • Personalised name: a one-of-a-kind piece above the bed.
  • Scandinavian illustration: simple line, neutral colours, minimal flat colour.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a baby room frame?

  • Above the bed or the crib: a vertical size, at adult eye level.
  • Above the changing table: a gentle scene, to hold the child's gaze.
  • On the wall facing the bed: the first thing the child sees on waking.
  • Around the door: two small sizes in symmetry.
  • In the reading corner: an alphabet or an animal frieze.

Tip: bright colours tire a small wall quickly. A pastel or a neutral tone ages better with the child.

Which baby room print by age?

  • Newborn: simple shapes and soft colours, for visual awakening.
  • Early childhood: alphabets and numbers, useful when learning starts.
  • The 30x40 size suits a wall already busy with furniture or storage.
  • The 50x70 stands alone, above the bed, with no other decoration around it.
  • Three 21x30 prints in a row let the room evolve without changing everything at once.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
