Collection formes abstraites

Une forme, deux couleurs, et une pièce qui change de ton sans rien raconter. L'abstrait se pose là où une scène figurative prendrait toute la place : au-dessus d'un bureau, dans un couloir, en face d'une fenêtre. Il tient la lumière du matin comme celle de six heures, et il ne se démode pas avec la saison.

Mediterranean

Whitewashed walls, a terracotta jar, an olive branch catching the late afternoon light. The Mediterranean is made of very little, which is what makes it easy to bring home.

These posters share the same range of earth, ivory and pale green. They hang together without competing, and work as well on a white wall as on a deep beige one.

Blue

A paper boat on a night sea, a swimmer seen from above, a figure crossing a flat field. Blue carries emptiness better than any other colour: it asks for nothing around it.

These posters are minimal and read from across the room. They find their place where a wall is already busy, and wake up a room that beige has made too quiet.

Botanical

A crowned crane under the moon, pomegranates and thistles on midnight blue, ochre arabesques on cream. Green is not the subject: what holds these plates together is the line, the one that counts the veins before drawing them.

They descend from the herbarium, where specimens were laid flat to be compared. Hang them the same way: aligned, at eye level, close enough for the comparison to happen.
