Posters grenoble
Grenoble as seen by our artists: the sloping lanes, the stairs and the peaks at the end of the street. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Bien choisir votre affiche Grenoble
Which Grenoble poster should you choose?
Grenoble comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Grenoble mountains poster: Belledonne, Vercors and Chartreuse at the end of the streets.
- Bastille cable-car poster: the round bubbles above the Isère.
- Stairs and lanes poster: the mineral city, tight walls, the climb towards the mountain.
- Grenoble map or city plan poster: the Isère, the Drac, the districts traced in line.
- Black and white Grenoble poster: concrete, rock, sky, contrasts without colour.
- Alps and Grenoble poster: peaks, forests, a green and snow palette.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Grenoble poster?
- Living room: the mountain at the end of the street in a large size, alone above the sofa.
- Hallway: a stairway perspective, which extends the corridor instead of closing it.
- Office: a line drawing, calm beside the screen.
- Bedroom: a green and brown palette, settled, with no hard contrast.
- Entrance: a map of Grenoble, to place the city from the door.
Tip: an image that climbs towards a summit gains from being hung a little high. It is the one case where the eye-level rule can be argued.
Grenoble poster: city or mountain?
- The city holds the built fabric: facades, stairs, cable-car bubbles, a recognisable silhouette.
- The mountain holds the setting: peaks, forests, snow, with no urban marker.
- In an entrance, the city names the place straight away.
- In a bedroom or a living room, the mountain settles things and takes a large size.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
