Posters linz

Linz as seen by our artists: the Danube, the castle on its bank and the cut-out silhouettes. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.

Bien choisir votre affiche Linz

Which Linz poster should you choose?

Linz comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

  • Linz castle poster: the red block set above the Danube, seen from the bank.
  • Danube at Linz poster: the river, the bridges, the quays, a water and sky palette.
  • Hauptplatz poster: the great square, the Trinity column, the baroque facades.
  • Linz map or city plan poster: the Danube, the districts, the bridges traced in line.
  • Contemporary Linz poster: glass and light, the architecture of the reworked banks.
  • Austria and Linz poster: hills, forests, a green and earth palette.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Linz poster?

  • Living room: the castle above the Danube in a large size, alone above the sofa.
  • Office: a line drawing of the square, calm and legible beside the screen.
  • Entrance: a map of Linz, to place the city from the door.
  • Hallway: a series of three Danube cities, same size and same frame.
  • Bedroom: a beige and green palette, settled, with no hard contrast.

Tip: the red of the castle is a compact mass. On a warm wall it goes out; on a grey or white wall it becomes what the eye holds on to.

Linz poster: river or city?

  • The river widens: water, bridges, banks, a broad sky, with no precise architectural marker.
  • The city tightens: castle, square, column, a recognisable silhouette.
  • In a living room, the river gives depth and takes a large size.
  • In an entrance, the city names the place straight away.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
