Posters door

Door as seen by our artists: blue doors in narrow lanes, weathered wood and stone door frames. Each poster is a personal reading of the landscape, hand-printed on 270 gsm semi-matte photo paper in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your door poster

Which door poster should you choose?

A door is decorated differently from a wall, and not all formats suit it:

  • Trompe-l'oeil door poster: a perspective that extends a room or simulates a scene, immediate effect on a solid door.
  • Jungle poster or botanical print: a vertical format that matches the height of the door.
  • Bright colour poster: a bold flat colour to mark a child's or an office door without overloading it.
  • Toilet poster: a humorous or graphic register dedicated to the bathroom.
  • Rabbit poster or animal print: a soft line, suited to a bedroom door.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by size and by mood.

Where should you hang a door poster?

  • Toilet: a toilet poster, in a vertical format, to fill the only available wall.
  • Child's bedroom: a jungle poster or an animal print, at eye level.
  • Office: a plain colour poster, that does not distract facing the entrance.
  • Hallway: a trompe-l'oeil door poster, to give depth to a narrow passage.
  • Dressing room: a discreet poster, chosen for the moments the door stays open.

Poster to stick or poster on a stand?

We print the poster alone, to fix directly onto the door or to place in a poster holder, a wall poster stand or a freestanding poster stand. On a solid, smooth door, direct fixing is enough. On a glass door or in a shop window, an acrylic poster holder or an A4 poster stand protects the paper and makes it easy to change the visual. The choice mainly depends on how often you want to rotate the image: fixed for a long time, or removable to vary it through the seasons.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
