Choosing your autumn poster and its colours

Which autumn poster should you choose?

Autumn wall art can focus on the colour of a leaf or the atmosphere of an entire landscape. Ochres, muted reds and deep greens do not all bring the same intensity to a wall.

  • Autumn forest poster: trunks and foliage create successive planes with light filtering through the branches.
  • Autumn leaves print: outlines, veins and colours become the subjects of a more graphic composition.
  • Autumn landscape wall art: a path, hill or riverbank opens the view and creates calmer depth.
  • Abstract autumn poster: masses of colour and textures evoke the season without describing a particular place.

The filters on the left let you choose a palette, style and mood.

Where should you hang an autumn poster?

In a living room, copper tones complement wood, wool and cream fabrics. A forest path suits an entrance, where its perspective guides the eye. A bedroom welcomes more muted shades and gentler contrasts. In a study, a leaf detail brings a natural, clear subject without multiplying decorative elements.

Tip: pair the picture’s warm colours with a light surface to preserve their definition; entirely brown surroundings can make them less distinct.

An autumn atmosphere throughout the year

An autumn poster does not have to be temporary decoration. Ochres and earth tones can become a lasting part of a room if their intensity suits the furniture. For a pair, combine a broad landscape with a botanical detail. You can also choose just one shared shade and vary the subjects: the season then becomes an atmosphere rather than a succession of similar leaves.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
