Choosing your toilet poster

Which toilet poster should you choose?

Toilets call for clearly identified registers, often very different from the rest of the house:

  • Humorous toilet poster: wordplay, comic situations, a tongue-in-cheek tone.
  • Clean toilet poster: kindly reminders to leave the toilet clean after use.
  • Vintage WC poster: old advertisements, retro lettering, period pastiches.
  • Nothing down the toilet poster: illustrated instructions, useful in a shared place.
  • Women's toilet poster: a softer tone, floral motifs or light quotations.
  • WC poster in the quotation spirit: one phrase, a touch of humour, little text.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a toilet poster?

  • Guest toilet: humour goes down better here than in a private bathroom.
  • Wall-hung toilet: a small size, legible from the door.
  • Office or restaurant toilet: a leave-the-toilet-clean poster, discreet and useful.
  • Children's toilet: a gentle tone, never the schoolboy humour reserved for adults.
  • Vintage or retro toilet: a vintage WC poster that extends the style of the rest of the room.

Tip: in a small room one poster is enough. Two different sizes quickly create a cluttered effect.

Which size for a WC poster?

  • 21x30: the size that works best in a toilet, often the smallest room in the house.
  • 30x40: for a door or a wall that offers a little more width.
  • 50x70: reserved for spacious toilets, with enough distance to read it.
  • The 270 g photo paper with its semi-matte finish keeps the text sharp, even under direct lighting.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
