White posters
White as seen by our artists: chalk, plaster, snow, bare paper and light. White wall decor makes a room feel larger and lets the wall breathe. Every print is made to order in our Fayence workshop, on 270 g semi-matte anti-glare photo paper.
Choosing your white poster
Which white poster should you choose?
White is never an emptiness: it carries clearly distinct registers.
- Black and white poster: sharp contrast, photography or graphics without colour.
- Snow white poster: snowy landscapes, summits, cold light and matter almost erased.
- Snow White and fairy tales: silhouettes, forests, characters from illustrated stories.
- Constellations on a pale ground: a starry sky in white line, fine and precise.
- White flowers: isolated petals, pared-back botany, a neutral ground.
- Minimalism: large white flat areas, a single shape, plenty of breathing room.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a white poster?
- Bedroom: a snow scene or a constellation, for a wall that stays calm at night.
- Living room: a large black and white poster, alone above the sofa.
- Entrance: a single white flower, on a wall that is already pale.
- Office: a minimalist motif, which does not distract from the work.
- Child's bedroom: a scene from a tale such as Snow White.
Tip: a white poster shows little on a wall that is already white. It gains relief on a coloured wall or with a marked frame.
Large or small white poster?
- A large white poster (50x70 or 70x100) asserts itself through surface more than through motif: it needs a clear wall around it.
- A small white poster (21x30) works better in a series, aligned with two or three others in the same register.
- The 100x140 polyptych suits a wide continuous motif, such as a snow landscape, rather than an isolated detail.
- The 270 g photo paper with its semi-matte finish keeps the white clean, without yellowing the surface over time.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
