Posters pointillism

A pointillist poster creates light through a multitude of small touches. Landscapes, figures and colourful compositions read differently as your viewing distance changes. This interplay between detail and the whole brings rhythm to your wall decor, with a painterly presence that stays light and luminous.

How to choose a pointillist poster

Which subjects suit pointillism?

Pointillism organises colour into separate touches rather than uniform surfaces. Up close, the eye follows the dots; from a distance, it reconstructs the shapes. Choose a pointillist print for its subject, but also for the way its colours vibrate together and complement the light in the room.

  • Pointillist landscape poster: trees, paths or horizons whose depth is built through touches of colour.
  • Pointillist sea poster: reflections and variations of blue that suggest movement in the water.
  • Pointillist flower print: a plant motif given rhythm by small areas of colour.
  • Abstract pointillist poster: a composition in which the arrangement of dots becomes the main subject.

Use the filters to find a palette or orientation suited to your wall.

Where should you place this print?

In a living room, allow enough viewing distance to take in the whole composition. Near an armchair or in a study, the details offer a second, more attentive reading. A light composition can also visually brighten an entrance without adding an overly imposing motif.

Tip: look at the thumbnail at a small size. If you already like its colour balance, the composition will retain its presence when viewed from farther away.

Bright colours or a softer palette?

Strongly contrasting dots create an animated image that works well on a plain wall. A limited colour range feels calmer and pairs easily with natural materials. Avoid surrounding an already richly dotted poster with lots of small patterns. Simple framing and clear space let you enjoy its visual effect without making the entire room feel busy.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
