Posters horse

Horses as seen by our artists: silhouettes, gaits and graphic lines. Each poster is a personal reading of the animal, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your horse poster

Which horse poster should you choose?

The horse comes in several registers, and each tells a different story:

  • Black and white horse poster: a pared-back portrait, mane in the wind, graphic contrast.
  • Wild horses: herds in freedom, running, dust and movement.
  • Friesian poster: a dark coat, a long mane, an elegant and massive silhouette.
  • Riding poster: a jump, dressage, rider and mount in action.
  • Pony poster: a rounder silhouette, a gentle register, often made for a child's room.
  • White horse: a pale coat, a pared-back ground, a luminous and calming rendering.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a horse poster?

  • Living room: a black and white horse in a large size, above the sofa.
  • Child's room: a pony or a horse in soft colours.
  • Office: a restrained horse portrait, beside the screen.
  • Entrance: a galloping horse, to set the tone from the threshold.
  • Hallway: a series of three portraits from the same register, in the same size.

Horse poster or equestrian poster: what is the difference?

  • The horse poster isolates the animal: portrait, coat, gaze, with no other element of decor.
  • The equestrian poster shows a scene: a competition, dressage, rider and mount together.
  • On an already crowded wall, the portrait alone holds better than a scene with several elements.
  • For a door or a narrow hallway, 21x30 or 30x40 suits the portrait; an equestrian scene asks for more width, from 50x70 upwards.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
