Posters italy

Italy as seen by our artists: the squares of Rome, the rooftops of Florence and the hills of Tuscany. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm semi-matte photo paper in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Italy poster

Which Italy poster should you choose?

Italy comes in several distinct registers, carried by recognisable places and styles:

  • Vintage Italy poster: an old travel advertisement, Art Deco lettering, an ochre and Mediterranean blue palette.
  • Cinque Terre poster: terraced villages above the Ligurian Sea, coloured façades.
  • Portofino or Sorrento poster: Amalfi coast, pastel harbours, palm trees.
  • Burano or Venice poster: canals, gondolas, painted façades packed tightly together.
  • Map of Italy: the peninsula's outline and landmark cities, a graphic and understated register.
  • Black and white Italy poster: film photography, monuments and alleyways in contrast.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by region and by style.

Where should you hang an Italy poster?

  • Living room: a large vintage format, alone above the sofa.
  • Kitchen: Cinque Terre or Sorrento, for a Mediterranean mood at the table.
  • Bedroom: Venice or Burano in soft tones, never too saturated.
  • Entrance: a map of Italy, to set the tone of the journey from the doorstep.
  • Office: a sober black and white, a monument or an alleyway, next to the screen.

Map of Italy or a view of one particular place?

The map suits anyone who loves Italy as a whole, without choosing one city over another: it stays neutral and goes with several rooms. A precise view, Cinque Terre, Portofino or Venice, tells a memory or a particular wish to travel, and sits closer to the vintage poster register than to the map style. For a wall that should evoke a beloved place, choose the view. For a wall that should simply say Italy, the map is enough.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
