Which Malaga poster should you choose?
Malaga comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Bay of Malaga poster: the sea, the city and the hills in stacked bands of colour.
- Alcazaba and Gibralfaro poster: the walls and the towers, above the roofs.
- Port of Malaga poster: quays, palms, boats, the reworked seafront.
- Malaga map or city plan poster: the coast, the port, the districts traced in line.
- Modern-art Malaga poster: frank flat areas, simplified forms, a studio feel.
- Andalusia and Malaga poster: whitewash, orange trees, a sun palette.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Malaga poster?
- Living room: the bay in bands of colour, alone above the sofa.
- Kitchen: the yellow and blue wake a pale wall without loading it.
- Bedroom: a warm, calm palette, turned towards southern light.
- Entrance: a map of Malaga, to place the city from the door.
- Hallway: a series of three Andalusian cities, same size and same frame.
Tip: a composition in horizontal bands takes a large size very well, because it has no detail to lose as it grows.
Malaga poster: graphic or figurative?
- The graphic register simplifies: three bands, a horizon line, an immediate reading.
- The figurative register details: walls, palms, boats, recognisable facades.
- On a living room wall, the graphic holds alone and takes the very largest size.
- In an entrance, the figurative names the city, which a band of colour does not.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
