Which Mallorca poster should you choose?
Mallorca comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same island:
- Mallorca coves poster: rock arches, clear water, pines clinging to the limestone.
- Serra de Tramuntana poster: mountains, olive terraces, stone villages.
- Palma poster: the cathedral at the water's edge, the old town, the roofs.
- Mallorca map poster: the island's outline, the capes and bays in line.
- Botanical Mallorca poster: olives, figs, citrus, a green and earth palette.
- Black and white Mallorca poster: rock, shadow, contrasts without colour.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Mallorca poster?
- Bedroom: a cove in a large size, calm, above the headboard.
- Living room: the mountains or the coast, alone above the sofa.
- Bathroom: a rock and water motif, marine in a small room.
- Entrance: a map of the island, to place it from the door.
- Hallway: a series of three Mediterranean islands, all the same size.
Tip: the beige of the rock and the blue of the water make a soft contrast. On a beige wall it fades. Keep it for a white wall, or a dark frame.
Mallorca poster: coast or inland?
- The coast holds the water: coves, arches, boats, a blue and beige palette.
- Inland holds the earth: olives, terraces, dry stone, a green and ochre palette.
- In a bedroom or a bathroom, the coast settles the room and takes a large size.
- In a living or dining room, inland agrees better with wood and linen.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
