Naples as seen by our artists: Vesuvius at the far end of the bay, the washing on the balconies and the alleys running down to the sea. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your Naples poster

Which Naples poster should you choose?

  • Vintage Naples poster: old travel advertisement, retro lettering, a faded palette.
  • Graphic Napoli poster: clean lines, flat blocks of colour, the silhouette of Vesuvius or the gulf.
  • Naples map poster: a plan of the city and the bay, decorative and practical at once.

Where should you hang a Naples poster?

  • Living room: a large format of the gulf or Vesuvius, alone above the sofa.
  • Office: a vintage poster or a map, understated next to the screen.
  • Entrance: a Naples poster that sets the tone from the doorway.
  • Kitchen: a coloured motif from the historic centre, in a small size.
  • Bedroom: a soft shade of the gulf, never too vivid a block of colour.

Horizontal or vertical Naples poster?

The gulf and Vesuvius read better in horizontal format, which respects the line of the horizon between sea and volcano. An alley in the historic centre or a coloured façade suits a vertical format better, which follows the height of Neapolitan buildings. Above a sofa or a low sideboard, horizontal is the natural choice. Between two windows or in a narrow hallway, vertical settles in more naturally.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
