Which Rabat poster should you choose?

Rabat comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:

• Rabat ramparts poster: the ochre and red walls at the edge of the Atlantic.
• Kasbah of the Udayas poster: the blue and white lanes, low doorways, stairs.
• Hassan Tower poster: the unfinished minaret and its columns, on its esplanade.
• Rabat map or city plan poster: the Bouregreg, the medina, the districts traced in line.
• Rabat mosaic poster: portraits and city composed in tiles, graphic illustration.
• Morocco and Rabat poster: zellij, studded doors, an earth and blue palette.

Where should you hang a Rabat poster?

• Living room: the ramparts over the ocean in a large size, alone above the sofa.
• Bathroom: the blue of the Udayas, bright in a small room.
• Entrance: a map of Rabat, to place the city from the door.
• Bedroom: an ochre and green palette, warm and calm at once.
• Hallway: a series of three Moroccan cities, same size and same frame.

Tip: the blue of the Udayas is very saturated. On a blue wall it drowns; on a white or sand wall it becomes the subject of the room.

Rabat poster: city or motif?

• The city tells a place: ramparts, tower, lanes, ocean, all recognisable.
• The motif tells a craft: zellij, mosaic, repeated geometry.
• In a living room, the city works as an owned travel memory.
• In a kitchen or a bathroom, the motif decorates without telling a story.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.

• With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
• Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
