Choosing your Scandinavian poster

Which Scandinavian poster should you choose?

The Scandinavian style gathers several clearly distinct registers, each with its own world:

  • Scandinavian geometric poster: simple shapes, pared-back lines, a palette reduced to two or three colours.
  • Scandinavian deer poster: a stylised animal silhouette, often in flat black or in a fine line.
  • Scandinavian vintage poster: retro Nordic motifs, period lettering, faded tones.
  • Scandinavian black and white poster: maximal contrast, clean shapes, no colour to distract the eye.
  • Scandinavian kitchen poster: pared-back utensils and motifs, made for a working wall.
  • Scandinavian graphic poster: a minimal composition, plenty of empty space, one strong motif.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang Scandinavian wall decor?

  • Living room: a geometric poster in a large size, on a pale, clear wall.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
