Chartres seen by our artists: the cathedral rising at the edge of the Beauce fields, the rooftops and the Eure river. Each poster is a personal reading of Chartres, hand-printed on 220 gsm fine art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our studio in Grasse.

Chartres comes through here in three registers: the town with its cobbled streets and old facades, the cathedral with its sculpted portal and blue stained-glass rosette, and the local beer label with its tavern-poster lettering. Treatments range from the vintage travel poster to a map traced in a single line.
This is a place that works well in portrait orientation, because that's what defines it: the rising spire, the sculpted portal, the facade built for height. Vertical formats suit it better than panoramas.
Chartres blue and the honeyed tones of its stone are deep colours. Our 220 g/m² art paper with a satin finish keeps their texture, without the smoothness of a glossy paper.
