Frames and hanging

The frame and the hooks that go with your posters. Slim wooden moulding, four sizes from 21x30 to 70x100 cm and three finishes: white, black, light oak. Shipped from our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your poster frame

Which poster frame should you choose?

The size is chosen before the colour: it is what decides the place the whole thing takes on the wall.

  • 21x30 frame: the bedside and desk size, at seated eye level, or in a series of three.
  • 30x40 frame: the all-purpose size, present enough alone and easy to repeat in a frame wall.
  • 50x70 frame: the size that holds its own above a sofa or a console with no other neighbour.
  • 70x100 frame: the centrepiece, to reserve for open walls and high ceilings.
  • White finish: it lightens a dense poster and blends into a pale wall.
  • Black finish: it closes the framing and brings out a black and white print.
  • Light oak: the warmest finish, which matches the wood of a Scandinavian piece of furniture.

Where should you hang a frame?

  • Living room: a single 50x70 above the sofa, about fifteen centimetres from the backrest.
  • Bedroom: two 30x40 frames in the same finish, aligned on either side of the bed.
  • Office: a 21x30 placed on the shelf rather than hung, to change poster without drilling.
  • Hallway: a series of 21x30 in a line, spaced by the width of a hand.
  • Entrance: a 30x40 facing the door, at standing eye level.

Assembled frame or poster alone?

The assembled frame arrives ready to hang, with its glass and its hanging system. The poster alone slides into a frame you already own, and costs only the price of the print. We sell both, and hanging hooks are ordered separately: two hooks are enough for a 50x70, just one for the smaller sizes. If you are unsure about the finish, choose the colour that already dominates the room rather than the poster's: the frame belongs to the wall, not to the image.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
