Posters netherlands
The Netherlands seen by our artists: the canals of Amsterdam, the windmills, the tulip fields, the bicycles and the narrow facades. A Netherlands poster adds a note of travel to a living room or a hallway. Printed to order in our workshop in Fayence, on 270 g semi-matte photo paper.
Choosing your Netherlands poster
Which Netherlands poster should you choose?
The Netherlands comes in several clearly distinct registers, and they do not speak to the same wishes:
- Classic Netherlands poster: canals, gabled houses, bicycles leaning against a wall.
- PostNL poster: the orange and blue of the Dutch postal service, a graphic and recognisable image.
- Tulip fields: lines of colour as far as the eye can see, windmills in the background.
- Vintage Amsterdam: old advertising, travel posters, retro lettering.
- Windmills and polders: a low sky, a flat horizon, the silhouette of the sails.
- Canal scenes: reflections on the water, narrow facades, moored barges.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Netherlands poster?
- Living room: a canal view in a large size, above the sofa.
- Kitchen: a tulip field, for a touch of frank colour.
- Office: a PostNL poster or a graphic image, restrained and structured.
- Entrance: a vintage Amsterdam poster, to set the tone of the journey.
- Bedroom: a polder landscape in soft tones, calming on waking.
Tip: the bright orange and blue of the PostNL style come out better on a white or light grey wall, which lets the colour carry alone.
Netherlands poster or Amsterdam poster?
- The Netherlands poster shows a landscape: polders, windmills, tulips, the countryside as much as the city.
- The Amsterdam poster concentrates on one precise city: canals, bicycles, the narrow facades of the historic centre.
- For a whole room given over to travel, the two go together without repeating each other.
- The 50x70 suits both, but a polder panorama gains by stretching out at 70x100.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.
- With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
