Posters nuremberg
Nuremberg as seen by our artists: the half-timbering, the Pegnitz and the bridges of the old town. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.
Bien choisir votre affiche Nuremberg
Which Nuremberg poster should you choose?
Nuremberg comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same city:
- Half-timbered houses poster: the wood and plaster facades along the Pegnitz.
- Imperial castle poster: the Kaiserburg above the roofs, stone and red tile.
- Pegnitz and bridges poster: the river, the covered footbridges, the reflections.
- Nuremberg map or city plan poster: the ramparts, the old town, the districts in line.
- Vintage Nuremberg poster: old advertisements, the Christmas market, Gothic lettering.
- Black and white Nuremberg poster: wood, stone, contrasts without colour.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.
Where should you hang a Nuremberg poster?
- Living room: the half-timbering at the water's edge, in a large size above the sofa.
- Dining room: the orange of the roofs agrees with the wood of the table without hardening it.
- Bedroom: a calm view of the river, with no dense architectural detail.
- Entrance: a map of Nuremberg, to place the city from the door.
- Hallway: a series of three Bavarian cities, same size and same frame.
Tip: half-timbering is a dense motif, made of tight black lines. Below 30x40 it closes up. Keep it for 50x70 or larger.
Nuremberg poster: half-timbering or landmark?
- Half-timbering holds the atmosphere: wood, plaster, irregular alignments, human scale.
- The landmark holds the silhouette: castle, towers, ramparts, recognisable from a distance.
- In a living room, half-timbering warms the wall and takes a large size.
- In an entrance, the castle names the city in a second.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
