Posters orca

Orca as seen by our artists: the black and white, the raised dorsal fin and the open water of the fjords. Each poster is a personal reading of the animal world, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with a semi-matte finish in our workshop in Fayence.

Choosing your orca poster

Which killer whale poster should you choose?

The killer whale poster comes in several registers, from naturalist drawing to high-contrast photography:

  • Naturalist engraving-style killer whale poster: scientific plate, fine line, sepia or black-and-white tones.
  • Graphic killer whale poster: clean silhouette, flat black, geometric line.
  • Killer whale in black and white: marked contrast, photographic or drawn rendering.
  • Killer whale breach: splash, frozen movement, rough ocean.
  • Killer whale and pack ice: polar sea, ice, grey sky of the far north.
  • Pod of killer whales: group at sea, family scene, synchronised swimming.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a killer whale poster?

  • Living room: a large size above the sofa, a breach or a pod in a wide scene.
  • Bedroom: a black-and-white killer whale, understated above the bed.
  • Bathroom: the marine register that naturally finds its place.
  • Office: a naturalist plate, discreet next to the screen.
  • Children's room: a graphic silhouette, simple and recognisable.

Killer whale poster in black and white or with a coloured background?

  • Black and white respects the killer whale's natural coat and suits almost every wall.
  • A deep blue or icy background brings back the polar setting and slightly warms the room.
  • On a wall already busy with colour, black and white avoids visual overload.
  • On a neutral wall, a coloured background gives the poster relief.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
