Choosing your Reims poster

Which Reims poster should you choose?

Reims comes in several registers, carried by its history and its vineyards:

  • Reims cathedral poster: Gothic art, rose window, carved portal and the coronation site of the kings.
  • Champagne and vineyard poster: hillsides of the Marne, rows of vines, a festive mood.
  • Vintage Reims poster: Art Deco advertising, period lettering, sepia colours.

Where should you hang a Reims poster?

Reims poster: photo or illustration?

Photography renders the stone, the light on the stained glass and the grain of the vineyard. Illustration simplifies the cathedral or Place Drouet d'Erlon into flat colour and line, for a more graphic result. On a wall that is already busy, illustration asserts itself with more calm. For a gift tied to a specific memory of the coronation or a visit, photography keeps the scene faithful.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
