Posters sunset

Sunset as seen by our artists: the backlit silhouettes and the sky turning from gold to red. Each poster is a personal reading of the landscape, hand-printed on 220 gsm art paper with an anti-glare satin finish in our workshop in Grasse.

Choosing your sunset poster

Which sunset poster should you choose?

  • Sunset over the sea poster: gradient horizon, backlit silhouettes, reflections on the water.
  • Mountain sunset poster: peaks in silhouette, a blazing sky.
  • Desert or city sunset poster: dunes or rooftops in silhouette, an orange palette.
  • Sunrise poster: cool, rising light, calmer than a sunset.
  • Abstract sunset poster: bands of colour, pure gradient, no identifiable landscape.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by size and by mood.

Where should you hang a sunset poster?

  • Bedroom: a soft orange gradient above the bed, never too sharp a contrast.
  • Living room: a large panoramic size above the sofa.
  • Dining room: a warm hue, in keeping with the evening light.
  • Office: an abstract or minimalist version, so it does not distract.
  • Entrance: a vertical size, to catch the eye from the threshold.

Tip: a wall that is already orange or beige softens the contrast of a vivid sunset. A white or grey wall lets it stand out fully.

Sunset poster in a large size or as a polyptych?

A single size, up to 70x100, suits a wall of classic width and frames easily. The 101x141 polyptych is reserved for large walls and wide horizons, where a continuous gradient across several panels captures the expanse of the sky more fully. For a standard living-room wall, a single size is enough; for a wall that dominates the room, the polyptych gives the subject its full scale.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on fine art paper, not on canvas or metal.

  • With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
