Posters Le Havre
Le Havre as seen by our artists: the ocean liners and the port cranes, the Saint-Joseph tower and the long pebble beach. Each poster is a personal reading of travel, hand-printed on 270 gsm semi-matte photo paper in our workshop in Fayence.
Choosing your Le Havre poster
Which Le Havre poster should you choose?
- Vintage Le Havre poster: advertising-style lettering, a retro palette, in the spirit of an old travel poster.
- Le Havre reconstruction poster: Auguste Perret's lines, concrete and geometric façades.
- Le Havre harbour poster: docks, cranes and basins, an industrial and maritime register.
- Le Havre seafront poster: beach, breakwater and seafront, Norman light.
- Le Havre map poster: the city plan, districts and landmarks spotted at a glance.
- Minimalist Le Havre poster: simple flat colours and a clean composition for a contemporary wall.
The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by size.
Where should you hang a Le Havre poster?
- Living room: a view of the harbour or of the reconstruction, in a large size above the sofa.
- Entrance: a vintage Le Havre poster, to set the tone from the doorway.
- Bedroom: a beach or seafront view, in calm tones.
- Office: a map of the city or a minimalist composition, understated near the screen.
- Hallway: a series of several sizes around the same district.
Le Havre poster in colour or in black and white?
Colour brings out the Norman light and the tones of the reconstruction's concrete, while black and white strengthens the architectural line of Perret's work. On a wall already busy with colour, black and white calms the room. On a neutral wall, colour carries more of the city's port and maritime atmosphere.
Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?
All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, not on canvas or metal.
- With frame: black, white, oak or walnut, assembled and ready to hang.
- Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
