Spain seen by our artists: white villages, Castilian ochres, azulejos and southern light. Each poster is a personal reading of the peninsula, hand-printed on 270 gsm photo paper with a semi-matte finish in our studio in Fayence.

Choosing your Spain poster

Which Spain poster should you choose?

Spain comes in several registers, and they do not tell the same story:

  • Vintage Spain poster: period tourist advertising, rounded lettering, ochre and deep blue.
  • Spanish advertising poster: old brand posters, bullfighting, wines and seaside destinations.
  • Spain tourism poster: beaches, white villages, monuments, in the spirit of the official campaigns.
  • Andalusia poster: patios, azulejos, the Alhambra, the light of the south.
  • Majorca poster: coves, inlets, the umbrella pines of the Balearics.
  • Spain map poster: the outline of the country, the regions, the landmarks of its cities.

The filters on the left narrow things down by dominant colour, by style and by mood.

Where should you hang a Spain poster?

  • Living room: a large vintage tourism poster, alone on a pale wall.
  • Bedroom: a beach or a cove in Majorca, in soft tones.
  • Kitchen: an old advertising poster, in the spirit of a Spanish counter.
  • Office: a map of Spain, restrained and legible from a distance.
  • Hallway: a series of three regional posters, in the same size.

Tip: the ochres and terracottas of Andalusian posters hold better on a white wall than on one that is already warm.

Which size for a Spain poster?

  • 50x70 for a vintage tourism poster, which needs presence.
  • 30x40 for a detail: an azulejo, a label, a bullfighting scene.
  • 21x30 for a map, legible without taking the whole wall.
  • The 100x140 polyptych for a coastal or city panorama, in several panels.

Poster, print or picture: what is the difference?

All three words mean the same thing here: a printed image that you hang on the wall. We say poster because we print on photo paper, never on canvas. The same image is also available on a metal plate, in several sizes.

  • With frame: black, white or light oak, assembled and ready to hang.
  • Without frame: the sheet alone, to slide into the frame you already have.
